Redekea californica
Taxonomic Group: Crustaceans-Ostracods

Overview:

Redekea californica is a marine ostracod that lives commensally with the wood-boring isopod Limnoria tripunctata. It is known from only one location in the world – San Diego Bay, California. Its native range and the extent of its global distribution are unknown. We consider it introduced to California because its partner organism, L. tripunctata, is non-native to this area. There are no reported impacts for R. californica.
