Overview:

Eochelidium sp. A is a marine amphipod. It has not been identified to species, but belongs to a genus known only from the Western Pacific. Introduced populations are known from California and Washington. It is an infaunal species occurring in and over fine sandy and silty sediments. Ballast water is the most likely means of introduction. Further work on its identification and biogeographic history are needed to understand its distribution.
