Overview:

Nassarius fraterculus is commonly known as the Japanese Nassa. It is a small marine snail native to the Northwest Pacific. It has been introduced to Western North America (Washington and British Columbia) with shipments of Pacific Oysters (Crassostrea gigas) from Japan. It occurs on rocky and gravelly shores in its native habitat, but is also known from mudflats, eelgrass and oyster habitats. No impacts have been reported for this species.
