Invasion Description

1st Record: Petaluma/CA/Petaluma River Boat Basin (2004, Cohen et al. 2005; Modlin in Carlton 2007, 1st definite identification). This mysid may have appeared as early as 1996, in the upper San Francisco estuary, and then was identified as the native N. kadiakensis (Baxter and Heib 2006; Modlin, in Carlton 2007)
