Invasion
Invasion Description
1st record: Loring/AK/Behm Canal (Inside Passage) (1903, USNM 5633. U.S. National Museum of Natural History 2003; Lambert 2003); Stuart Island/British Columbia/Queen Charlotte Strait (1937, Lambert 2003).
The Alaska and British Columbia records are museum specimens which have been identified as C. savignyi. These records may represent a cryptogenic northern population. However, specimens collected from marinas in Puget Sound appear to be recent invaders (Lambert 2003).
