Invasion Description
In the Mediterranean Sea, a native clade occurs in more open waters, but harbors are dominated by an introduced clade from the Atlantic (Tarjuelo,et al. 2001; de Caralt et al. 2002; Lopez-Legentil et al. 2014)
Geographic Extent
Blanes/Spain/Blanes Harbor (Caralt et al. 2002; 41°40.4’N, 2°48.2’E).; Spain/Elbro Delta, Mediterranean Sea (Turon and Perrea 1988); Port Ginesta to Cadaques, Catalonia/Spain/Mediterranean Sea (Tarjuelo et al. 2001; Turon et al. 2003); Tossa de Mare, Catalonia/Spain/Mediterranean Sea (Turon 1990); Catalonia/Spain/Mediterranean Sea (Lopez-Legentil et al. 2014. The introduced Atlantic clade was found in all 32 harbors sampled in 2012-2013.)
