Invasion Description

1st Record? Canal Zone/Panama/Limon Bay, West Side In Shelter Cove, Caribbean Sea (1971, USNM 14391, U.S. National Museum of Natural History 2007), probably introduced much earlier. However, some records of S. plicata may actually refer to the newly described S. multicarpa, an introduced species of unknown origin (de Barros and da Rocha 2021).
