1st Record: CA/Malibu Creek between mouth and dam, 3 miles north now flowing out to sea on surface, even at low tide, 1st Record: Huntington Beach/CA/Bolsa Chica channel (1895, Smith 1895; USGS USGS Nonindigenous Aquatic Species Program 2014), 1st Record: 1.0-1.5 miles west of Dana Point, 1mile southwest of Capistrano beach/CA/San Juan Creek at mouth (1973,, 1st Record:(1973, USGS Nonindigenous Aquatic Species Program 2014), 1st Record: San Diego 6, on north edge of Carlsbad, collected at Jefferson Blvd. at inlet to lagoon, about halfway between here and 605 freeway, and at Hill Street crossing/CA/south shore of Buena Vista Lagoon (1975, USGS Nonindigenous Aquatic Species Program 2014), 1st Record: San Diego County/CA/San Mateo Creek Lagoon (1974-2008, Swift et al. 2018, ~1.5 % of individual fish, common during periods of heavy freshwater flow, absent during seawater inflow)
