Invasion Description

Auckland Islands/New Zealand/Pacific Ocean (2009, Westfall and Gardner 2010, northern M. galloprovincialis X M. edulis 2 specimens, southern M. galloprovincialis). Most of the mussels sampled belonged to the Southern Hemisphere genotype (southern M. galloprovincialis), but 2 mussels were hybrids between the Northern M. galloprovincialis genotype and M. edulis from the Northern Hemisphere (Westfall and Gardner 2010)
