Rudolph, Klaus (klaus.rudolph@directbox.com) 2014. First record of Ligia oceanica (Crustacea, Isopoda, Ligiidae) at the estuary of River Warnow (southern Baltic Coast, Germany). Lauterbornia 77: 3-36.
Ligia oceanica is a terrestial Isopoda species of the European and North-American Atlantic coast. It occurs in the Baltic region up to Bornholm. It requires a salinity above 6-7 psu. Ligia prefers rocky shores. Up to now there was a large gap of distribution between Fehmarn and Bornholm. In this study Ligia oceanica has been recorded in Warnemunde at the western mole and at the shores of the "Alte Strom" (Warnow) in three subsequent years.
