Toms River/NJ/Toms River, Barnegat Bay (6/1/2008, 50 mm, http://www.serc.si.edu/labs/marine_invasions/news/CHINESE_MITTEN_CRAB_ALERT_21July2008.pdf); by Allenwood/NJ/Manasquan River (10/9/2009, Darrick Sparks, personal communication, 1 female, 64 mm); NJ/Upper Tom's River (3/17/2010, Darrick Sparks, personal communication, 1 female); Seaside Park/NJ/ Barnegat Bay (5/23/09, Darrick Sparks, pers. comm., a 55mm Male Mitten Crab (Eriocheir sinensis) was found crawling along a bulkhead in Barnegat Bay (39.9343° ,-74.0808°) near Seaside Park, NJ on May 23, 2009. The specimen was captured by crab net and was sent to the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center for study.)
